Abstract

Temporary help work is a quite recent phenomenon in the Italian economy, but its share of total employment has been continuously increasing since its formal introduction in 1997 (with law 196/1997, also known as the ‘Treu Package’, after the name of the Ministry of Labour who proposed it).
