Abstract

Posteriormente en el Capítulo 11, Hugo Vega de la Cruz explora los elementos que determinaron la adopción del esquema de agregados monetarios para lograr la reducción de la inflación en el Perú. Luego de describir el contexto internacional y local en el que se optó por dicha estrategia, se pasa a considerar el objetivo de la política monetaria, en el periodo de estudio, y las opciones de régimen monetario disponibles. Posteriormente, se explica el marco analítico del control de agregados monetarios, su racionalidad y cómo ello llevó al desarrollo de instrumentos necesarios para su consecución exitosa. Finalmente, se discuten algunos de los problemas que surgieron con este esquema.
