Abstract

En el Capítulo 5, Gonzalo Pastor narra la evolución de la política monetaria y cambiaria durante el periodo 1945-1963. Dicho periodo fue testimonio del traspaso del sistema cambiario de tipo de cambio fijo heredado del tiempo de la guerra mundial, a un sistema cambiario de tipo de cambio dual flotante, que eventualmente fue solo de jure, mas no de facto debido a una fuerte intervención cambiaria del banco central, para finalmente transitar a una unificación cambiaria, la cual fue precedida por una abrupta devaluación de la moneda nacional a finales de 1959.
