Abstract

Luigi Amoroso was the main exponent of the Paretian tradition in Italy in the last century. The circle of Pareto’s scholars was of great relevance, at least in the Italian context. During the 1920s, the initial group grew, and the Paretian school, at the time also known for mathematical economics, formed a vital current of thought. However, this strand of thought did not receive the historiographical importance it deserved. Paretian authors, with a few exceptions, were almost entirely ignored, and their contribution was marginalized. The purpose of this volume is to fill an historiographic gap and offer a complete view of Amoroso’s work, from the early writing to the last contributions. The fundamental idea is that he contributed decisively to the building of economic theory as we know it today.
