Abstract

The sustainable way of thinking, planning and acting is getting increasingly integrated into the corporate strategies of an organization, and that is because it has an impact on economic well-being, competition and corporate reputation. Modern organizations make choices that will benefit the planet and society, and lead to economic growth and long-term survival. For the purpose of this research, there has been an extensive literature review in the areas of Total Quality Management (TQM), sustainability and organizational performance for businesses under crisis conditions. The findings show a clear link between sustainability and TQM that brings out the organizations’ need for continuous improvement and respect for all stakeholders and also highlight TQM and sustainability practices as key factors for organizations to overcome a crisis, successfully.
