Abstract

The unconventional, multi-pronged strategy adopted by the Central Bank of Nigeria in response to the recent global economic and financial crisis has received its fair share of media attention. As expected, opinions vary across a wide spectrum, ranging from foreign observers, institutional investors, market analysts and stockbrokers to the proverbial ordinary man on the street. While it is everyone’s prerogative to analyse and even second-guess CBN’s past actions, the apex bank does not have that luxury. The work is never done.
