Abstract

Zusammenfassung Vor dem Hintergrund des teils normativen, teils empirischen Politikrahmens werden die wichtigsten regionalen industriepolitischen Dokumente der Afrikanischen Union, EAC, ECOWAS, SACU und SADC auf ihre Anwendbarkeit hin untersucht. Anhand der empirischen Fälle der westafrikanischen Milch- und Textilwertschöpfungsketten werden die Schwierigkeiten der regionalen Prioritätensetzung diskutiert. Die genaue Rolle (a) regionaler Finanzinstitutionen, (b) regionaler Entwicklungshilfe, einschließlich der Vielzahl von Projekten zur „Entwicklung des Privatsektors“ (PSD) und (c) regionaler Unternehmensverbände wird definiert. Eine knappe Zusammenfassung der wesentlichen Elemente der gemeinsamen Industriepolitik schließt das Kapitel ab.
