Abstract

Business today has clearly moved into the era of globalization and the Information Age. If it is to remain relevant, business ethics must also do so. This chapter looks to the future by first looking back on the past. In the first part of this chapter I ask: what has been learned about business ethics from dealing with business in the developed industrial countries that others interested in pursuing ethics in business can adopt? In the second part I extend the consideration to ethical issues in business connected to globalization. In the third part I ask what are the new ethical issues of business in the Information Age with which all countries are struggling and from which we can all learn from one another.
