“The Abuse and Decline of Knowledge”

Abstract

Hayek’s November 10, 1936, presidential address to the London Economic Club, “Economics and Knowledge,” is often considered his single greatest work. He himself considered it among his most important. He remarked in his autobiographical notes that “together with some later related papers reprinted with it in Individualism and Economic Order, this seems to me in retrospect the most original contribution I have made to the theory of economics.”
