Abstract

The avalanche of technologies developed in the last twenty years has conditioned consumers to expect a new wave of devices in ever-shortening cycles, yet the pervasiveness of technology is the least understood aspect, and its implications for a global society are only just beginning to come to light. Studying the application of bio-integration to the socio-economic fabric of human relationships and the interface to contemporary business has barely begun. It is apparent that the consumer’s love affair with electronic gadgetry is far from over; in fact, it could be argued that it is only just starting. The rate of technology adoption is increasing with each new generation of potential users. Although all members of society do not share this affection for technology, the pervasiveness of technology continues to impact each individual either by direct participation or as an indirect consequence. The pervasiveness of computing has many implications for financial services companies, and in some cases distracts from a clear value proposition.
