Abstract

This chapter draws on a number of specific experiences and case-studies of SREs to illustrate the application of some of the ideas expressed up to now, and to illustrate the growing importance being attached to these ideas. It covers the Body Shop’s values report, because this was one of the first to carry out such a widespread review of its activities using the new tools of social auditing. It then highlights the Levi Strauss company to emphasise what that company has done in the area of supplier sourcing, where it is one of the world leaders if not the world leader. This is followed by a short section on Grand Metropolitan’s Corporate Citizenship initiatives and then by a report of Nike’s activities in the area of social responsibility.
