The Industry Perspective — Examples of Primary Effects

Abstract

Changes will affect companies in different trades in different ways and in different time perspectives. In some industries, we will find that the effects of new technologies are of a ‘primary’ nature, meaning that new technologies will have a major impact on how work is organised within these industries. In other industries, the effects will mainly emanate from technological development in other industries and from society as a whole. These effects we call ‘secondary’.
