Abstract

In commenting, and sometimes criticising, the six substantial papers presented in this session I must acknowledge the debt we owe to Hans Singer in addressing the key issues. Central strands in his wide interests have been an internationalist approach, preoccupation with human development and employment, concern for the poor and advocacy of international aid. All are relevant to this session.
