Abstract

Japan’s electronics corporations are among the world’s largest. At the end of 1989, six of the world’s ten largest international electronics firms had their home base in Japan. More than a quarter of the companies in the world’s top hundred are Japanese, selling almost $200 billion-worth of electronic goods and realising one third of total global electronics sales.2
