Abstract

Country risk analysis is generally accepted as the process of assessing a country's economic, political, and social situation as determinants of its ability and willingness to service its foreign financial obligations. It is a well researched area during the past two decades. Significant involvement of commercial banks in lending to developing nations forced the need for such analysis and evaluation systems. These have become essential components of the country credit granting process.
