The Jacoa Story

Abstract

In 1976 Cdf Chimie, the French state-owned coal board, took over the French paint company, Le Ripolin. The latter was one of the six largest paint manufacturers in the world. The senior executives of Cdf were gradually coming to grips with the acquisition, when they were forced to direct their attention to Ripolin UK, Le Ripolin’s 71 per cent owned English subsidiary. The latter’s business was the manufacture and retail of Ripolin paint in the UK.
