Abstract

It is difficult to imagine a more intellectually inadequate assertion than that by which the CBI and National Association of Pension Funds attempts to set out the principles on which pension funds should operate: Pension funds should have one duty only — to their pensioners. They should not be obliged to concern themselves with any outside interest, even the public good.
