Computer Literacy

In: The Future of Shopping

Abstract

The question of computer literacy is of particular importance for the future. It is undeniably clear that a reasonable degree of skill must be possessed by any user wanting to use online shopping facilities. In general, this is not perceived as a problem due to the widely held assumption that the younger generation have become so accustomed to computers in the past few years that they are all confident and facile in their use of them. I would like to look at the facts, but later also consider whether the older generation feel equally, or sufficiently, comfortable at what many find a frightening means of communication.
