The Future of Britain’s Jobs

Abstract

In this chapter we begin to draw out the main conclusions about flexible employment from our review of other studies and from our own analyses of individuals’ and households’ experiences. We also return to answer the questions we raised at the outset (Chapter 1): namely whether flexible jobs are inferior; how they are distributed between individuals and households; whether they generate ‘feel-bad’ factors, and what the implications of flexible employment are for the British economy.
