Abstract

As the opening chapters properly underlined, the goals of industry are in a steady evolution. Not only are the big brown factories a disappearing species in the developed world, but also the employment landscape itself is rapidly changing. Seen under this aspect of economic and financial restructuring, mergers and acquisitions have a totally different perspective. They become the means for the consolidation and the restructuring of our economic system.
