Management Manifestations

Abstract

The problems faced by managers are frequently shifting, complex and insoluble. Confronted with this daunting prospect many managers long to find the all-embracing solution, to shed the burden of responsibility for the problems that exist and the decisions that have to be taken. They are reluctant to accept the inescapable fact that there are no general solutions to individual and specific problems, only temporary expedients based upon the uniqueness of each managerial situation which is, in turn, constrained by personal relationships of the greatest subtlety and complexity.
