Abstract

The links in a management information system are first and foremost human links; both the originators and the receivers of information (and often the processors of it) are people. Much has been said about the end receiver — the manager who is going to look at the information and make a decision; but the human links en route are more often than not taken for granted, as if information flows as smoothly along the physical route as the straight line on the systems analyst’s diagram.
