Abstract

Management is a vital input for the construction industry at the level of the site, the firm and the total process. Because of the differences in qualifications for management and the type of management required, there are differences between building and civil engineering and these will be discussed separately where relevant. Management is interpreted as the control over operations at all levels which range from supervision of men on site to major decision-making in the firm and the total process.
