Abstract

The most important single conclusion of this research is that Britain does provide an environment conducive to the success of subsidiaries of smaller European firms. Not only does our ‘objective’ indicator of success provide evidence of this, but it is also confirmed by the subjective assessments of Head Office managements and top management in the subsidiary itself.
