The Superiority of the Large-scale Agricultural Enterprise over the Small-scale Enterprise

Abstract

A number of reasons have already been advanced in this journal from more authoritative quarters in favour of answering the question of the ability of the small-scale agricultural enterprise to compete with the large-scale enterprise, sometimes in an affirmative and sometimes in a negative sense. It goes without saying that in an investigation of this kind into the advantages of the above-mentioned economic forms absolutely equivalent external conditions must be assumed to prevail on both sides. However, there is one point which in my opinion deserves to be emphasised more strongly, as it is of the greatest significance for the evaluation of the question under discussion: I mean the presupposition of equal capital intensity.
