The Formulation and Implementation of Wage Policy

Abstract

While it might appear to be more logical to examine machinery for formulating wage policy before instruments for its implementation, it is more convenient to deal with implementation first since it emerges that the question of who formulates wage policy is closely linked with the prescription of the whole range of economic and social policies. For the purpose of this section it is simply assumed that a wage policy, based on the kind of principles examined in Section II, has been centrally devised.
