Abstract

This last chapter examines the role of trust within the socio-economic process of development. The chapter attempts to outline the relationship between the Economy of Trust and the socio-economic context, evidencing the synergies. By these premises, Padua examines how trust may relate to the concept of development, equity and redistribution, in light of the Keynesian process of ‘civilization’. To this extent, the difference between the concept of growth and development, the concept of redistribution, equity and trust in Keynesian thought, and the concept of the economy of development related to the civilization process advocated by Keynes are examined. From these considerations, it emerges quite clearly how Keynesian trust represents the basic fabric of the social capital of a nation.
