Abstract

Having set a conceptual background for this study of generations and work, we will now turn to reporting on the main primary research done for the book. In this chapter, attention is on what employees at all levels think about motivators at work as well as what they think about conflicts between generations. So, there are two main research thrusts in this chapter. Later, in chapter 5, the research concentrates on age-based motivational and conflict factors among workers in different industries. That research uses the same survey research instrument as does this chapter. The aim of that research is to discover if the type of industry makes a difference in employees’ motivation and conflict experience.
