Abstract

The problem of journalists is distinct from that of the press, despite the numerous points of contact. It was raised a month ago at the conference of the British workers’ guild, during which only journalists enrolled in the guild were allowed admission to the assembly halls. In retaliation, the editors of British newspapers decided to boycott the conference sessions, abstaining from publishing the reports. I do not know whether and what compromise was reached in England; but I know that the question is important with regard both to freedom of the press and the right of newspaper workers to set up an organization for protection of their interests.
