Abstract

Chapter 4 acknowledges that there are a number of guides available for different types or aspects of the start-up process. However, it also indicates that these guides are generally not as widely applicable as is claimed for the business plan or proposed for the exploration alternative. It is therefore on these two approaches that this chapter is focussed — first to highlight their differences and their relevant criteria and then to indicate their advantages and disadvantages. But to start that comparison here is a summary of their key features.
