Abstract

1. Understand local zoning procedures and their legal basis with an emphasis on impact on development 2. See how zoning modifications and variances can modify, expedite, or hinder site selection and development 3. Examine how the differences in center city and suburban growth interact and impact overall regional development 4. Learn what “New Urbanism” is and its effect on existing and future metropolitan growth policies 5. Explore if zoning has a negative or positive impact on economic development
