A Three-Dimensional First-Century Lens for Understanding Management

Abstract

While it is helpful to know that managers were becoming increasingly important and prevalent in the first century, and that the oikos represents the primary goods and service producing organization of the day, this does not yet tell us what management theory and practice looked like in the first century. For that we need to look at what was being written about management in that day, and what were the main debates about management.
