Abstract

In a speech delivered at the Newcastle Civic Centre on 25th January 2011, the Governor of the Bank of England left no room for doubt: Happy economies combine growth, stability of prices and of the financial system, fiscal sustainability, supply side flexibility and low unemployment. [2011, p.2]
