Culture, global leadership and procrastination

Abstract

Delaying decisions, slacking off, not taking responsibility for difficult decisions and their potential consequences, it seems like every leader is doing it to some extent. So, does leader procrastination travel around the globe affecting many leadership practices? In other words, are there any cross-cultural differences with respect to the issue of leadership procrastination? Despite the fact that culture is a factor always to be reckoned with, many real-life cases and experiences illustrate that procrastination in our globalised world seems widely shared among our leaders. Why is this true?
