Abstract

Managing private equity portfolios appears to fit well into the framework of the Adaptive Market Hypothesis (AMH). In this framework competition drives adaptation and innovation and natural selection shapes the market’s dynamics. Contrary to the Efficient Market Hypothesis, in the AMH world arbitrage opportunities exist and this is particularly the case with private equity.
