Abstract

Even though the Great Recession has been a global crisis, the performance of emerging market economies has been heterogeneous during the crisis and the recovery. Several emerging economies in Europe were hit more severely than other emerging market economies, and for many emerging European countries the dynamics of output have been more similar to advanced economies.
