In Search of Wisdom

Abstract

In the wake of Enron’s collapse, Ghoshal argued that there could be no real consideration of ethics or morality in business schools if they continued to neglect considerations of human intentionality. Intentionality is not only relevant to ethics and morality — but, more deeply, to personal integrity and authenticity in relationships and, thence, to wisdom itself. This chapter takes up the challenge of linking the notion of intentionality to matters of practical wisdom, such as in situations of managerial complexity.
