Abstract

Within a closed community the outsider quickly stands out. The stranger without local knowledge not only stands out, but he or she can be an affront to the very people they want to approach. The community’s view may be: “Not only don’t you know us, you know nothing about us and yet you want to work with us and possibly damage our environment or lifestyle.” The first step in getting to know people is to have an understanding of their structure. The way to do this is through the diagnostic.
