Abstract

The world economy has become largely globalized, multinational enterprises ontributing a substantial portion to the world’s total trade. They have of themselves become significant and powerful elements in the world’s economic and political landscape, helping to carry the intricacies and dynamics of international business and international relations to unprecedented levels of complexity and interrelatedness. One of the greatest exemplars of this development is the Siemens Corporation which in 2005 has reported itself as consisting of over 900 fully owned and over 400 majority-owned subsidiaries or joint ventures.
