Abstract

Ken Heyman has published forty books of photographs. During his forty-five years in the photography field, he has completed 150 assignments for Life magazine, and has been a full member of Magnum. For twenty years he was the photographer for Margaret Mead, the distinguished anthropologist. He has photographed in more than sixty countries and the photos have appeared in major exhibits and two books co-authored with Margaret Mead. His many awards include The World Understanding Award, given “to honor the photographer whose work has contributed most to a better understanding among the world's people.”
