Abstract

Would you say that the Teatro Real is an innovative company? Each year they put on no fewer than five new productions, each one of them with the complex characteristics that we’ve seen in previous chapters. Additionally, the work done is subject to inevitable changes imposed by a service company; singers become ill or hysterical, extras who don’t turn up, sets that make noises … all these things have an important effect on the result. At first glance then, it does appear that the Teatro Real is indeed a very innovative company.
