Denso

Abstract

Denso is Japan’s largest automotive parts and components manufacturer and ranks fourth in the world in terms of sales. In Japan the company stands out from its competitors in every respect, ranging from its wide array of products and excellent production technology to its solid organizational structure. The same can be said of its management of global operations. The company began to eye the overseas market in the early 1960s, when the Japanese car industry was still in its infancy, and has since evolved into a fully fledged multinational with 75 subsidiaries in 24 countries across the world. In Europe, Denso has 17 subsidiaries in 10 countries. Nine of the subsidiaries are manufacturers and the rest consist of sales companies, a regional headquarters in the Netherlands and an R&D centre in Germany.
