Abstract

The Nordic model of economic development and management, which existed primarily between 1945 and 1990, was an attempt to combine economic growth with democratic stability: a programme for increased equality and extensive democratization of society.1 In this corporatist programme, management was a political task, an act of compromise, of finding the best solution to conflicts between workers and employers.
