Abstract

Utility computing is a new approach to architecting and delivering computing power and business applications on an automated, ‘on-demand’ basis. Utility computing is being enabled by a new generation of technologies that are more flexible and responsive to fluctuating business requirements. Interest in utility computing is being driven by the same budgetary demands for a greater return on investment (ROI) from technology that is driving outsourcing.
