Abstract

Innovation is central to the wellbeing of societies, as well as to the health and growth of commercial companies. It represents a great leverage in creating economic value. The penalty for not innovating is enormous. Innovation manifests itself in many different ways and is very hazardous to predict, both in its timing and in its consequences. It is difficult to manage the process of making it emerge and succeed.
