Abstract

Evaluation and review is not just a once-only activity and still less an afterthought. It is a continuous process that enables a mentor and mentee to check that they are working towards achieving their objectives and also responding to changing circumstances. It is also a part of the ending process, to enable both parties to understand and accept what has been achieved, seek closure for the relationship and move on. This process of understanding and acceptance needs to take place at both intellectual and emotional levels, that is, both thoughts and feelings.
