National Economic Returns and the Use of Economic Prices

Abstract

The valuation of project costs and benefits depends upon the effect an investment project has on the demand and supply of the output and the supply and demand of the project inputs. Project effects are outlined in the first section below. This includes discussion of external effects, effects on the economy which are outside the responsibility of the agency or agencies implementing a project.
