Abstract

My ambition in starting this book was, amongst other things, to show that for success an effective partnership of interests was necessary. The three legs of the stool had to play equal and supportive parts. When this works society prospers. The examples of South Carolina and the North East of England in the last chapter show that in regional economic terms the partnership can work astonishingly well.
