Abstract

Crisis management is a recent discipline, which is slowly being established in companies as a result of the great crises that shook the 1980s and 1990s. Rapidly overwhelmed in the maelstrom of a crisis, a top executive faces considerable risks that he will no longer be able to guarantee a decision-making process that measures up to what is at stake. Only preventative action and the creation of upstream teams make it possible to handle such events properly. The post-crisis phase, often underestimated, leads to measures of readjustment for organisations which are likely to make them more resilient.
