In: The Economics of Keynes in Historical Context

Abstract

The foregoing chapter is what might be termed a methodological critique of the Walrasian interpretation of the General Theory. Some readers will recognize that others have made somewhat similar arguments in other contexts (Kregel, 1976, is perhaps the most extensive treatment). It is a critique of Keynesianism that is completely consistent with my historical work, and which represents a crucial step on the scholarly road to reconstructing Keynes’s argument in the General Theory.
